B.Tech-Artificial Intelligence and Data Science program was established in the year 2020 with intake of 60 students. It is new emerging concept which is most sought after technology not only in IT industry but also in all kinds of core industries. This course is designed to create a dynamic career in the field of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Our curriculum enables the graduate to become an expert in these two complementary disciplines that organizations are seeking globally.

Course Description
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science are emerging as one of the most sought after skill leading to lucrative careers in cutting edge AI technology. This course aims at providing not only the core technologies such as artificial intelligence, data mining and data modelling but also offers intensive inputs in areas of machine learning and big data analytics taught be industry experts. Through this course, the students will gain cross-disciplinary skills across fields such as statistics, computer science and machine learning, . These data scientists / engineers will have career opportunities in Healthcare, Business, e-commerce, Social Networking, Climatology, Biotechnology, Genetics, and any field that involves data. The major focus of this programme is to train students on statistical tools, mathematical models, machine learning, knowledge discovery, and data visualization skills, so that they will be able to deduce intelligent inferences from raw data.
Building human-level thought processes through the creation of artificial intelligence (AI) is the state-of-the-art in Computer Science. The Students will graduate with important skills in Design thinking, strategic planning and corporate connect in addition to the engineering skills. The Course focuses on creating innovative strategies to solve challenging real-world problems using AI.

- Shanmitha Sree N and Sowjanya S, I AI&DS – Secured First and Third Place with Cash Awards of Rs. 2000 and Rs. 1000 respectively in “Prompt Battle” at the National Level Technical Fest CYBENZEC 2k26, Karpagam Academy of Higher Education, held on 13th February 2026.
- Divyesh S, I AI&DS – Secured Second Place and Cash Award Rs. 2000 in “Quiz Carnival”, ELECT-ERA’26 A National Level Technical Symposium at Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT), held on 6th February 2026.
- Danush Kumar A and Jeevan T, I AI&DS – Secured First Prize and Cash Award Rs. 3000 in “Prompt-Athon” at the National Level Symposium “FUTURiX-A2026”, Arjun College of Technology, Coimbatore, held on 21st February 2026.
- Logesh L, I AI&DS secured Second Place in Men’s Volleyball at PSG College of Technology on 16th February 2006, showcasing outstanding athletic skill and team spirit.
- 250+ students have participated in National and State-level hackathons.
- 150+ students have undergone online/offline internship programs.
I YEAR AI&DS STUDENT ACHEIVEMENTS
- Department of IT and AI&DS Inaugurated the “Low Code Studio” in M.Tech Lab, Hall NO. 224 A, SNSCE on 05.05.2023 at 10.00 am. Chief Guest was Mr. Navaneeth Malingan, Founder & AI Lead, Nunnari Labs.
- Internship with MindfulAI is initiated inside the campus with 30 students of II IT and AI&DS from 25.03.2023
- 48 Hours MindfulAI Chat GPT Hackathon was successfully conducted on 20th and 21st April, 2023 by Aravind.C, IV IT Students
- Alumni talk was organized by the Department of IT titled “The basic qualities require to be an Entrepreneur” by Mr. Vivek kumar M, CEO, Visvi Infotech( Natty Pangolin), Coimbatore on 31.01.2023. Around 112 students got benefitted from the session.
- An alumni talk was conducted titled “Art of Artificial Intelligence” by Mr. N. Adhithyaa, Assistant Professor, Kongu Engineering College, Erode on 02.02.2023. About 65 from student community got benefited from the session.
- Department of IT and AI&DS signed an MOU with DreamGuys Technologies Pvt Ltd., on 02.03.2023 at 3.40 pm in Principal Chamber. The Resource person was Ms. Alishia Jasmine, HR Manager, Dreamguys Technologies
- Department of IT and AI&DS signed an MOU with YARDSTICK DIGITAL SOLUTIONS, on 27.04.2023 at Principal Chamber.
- Department of IT and AI&DS signed an MOU with Nunnari Labs, on 02.06.2023 at 11.30 AM. The resource person was Mr. Navaneeth Malingan, Founder & AI Lead at Nunnari Labs Coimbatore.
