About Principal

Dr. CHARLES S

Dr. S. Charles is a distinguished Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering with over 31 years of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration. He earned his Ph.D. from the Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, and holds both his Master’s in Production Engineering and Bachelor’s in Mechanical and Production Engineering from Annamalai University, Chidambaram.

He began his academic career in 1994 and has since served in several key administrative roles. He has actively collaborated with researchers across interdisciplinary domains, guided more than 30 UG projects and 10 PG research projects, and published over 75 papers in reputed journals and national/international conferences. He also serves as a reviewer for several scholarly journals.

Dr. Charles has organized numerous FDPs, workshops, and national/international conferences sponsored by AICTE, Anna University, CSIR, and various industries. He is a life member of several prominent professional bodies, including ISTE, IIIE, IIM, ISAMPE, TSI, IIPE, IWS, MRSI, SESI, and the Indian Nano Science Society.

He has been recognized with several prestigious awards such as the Bharath Vibhushan Samman Puraskar, Best Teacher Award, Wipro Academic Leadership Award, and Best Principal Award. He was also appointed by the Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu as a Member of the Academic Council of Anna University, Chennai.
