Warm welcome to the website of the Department of Agricultural Engineering at the SNS College of Technology! A key goal of Agricultural Engineering Department is to improve the efficacy and sustainability of agricultural production and processing practices by performing the tasks such as planning, supervising and managing the building of dairy effluent schemes, Irrigation, drainage, Flood water control systems, performing environmental impact assessments, Agricultural product processing and interpret research results and implement relevant practices in large scale agriculture.
Our department proudly houses vibrant, dedicated and motivated faculty members with several specialized sub-disciplines: Soil and water Conservation, Farm Machinery and Power, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Bio Energy, Food Processing Engineering etc.,
The department also offers hands on training on the cultivation of crops in the SNS farms using 65 HP tractors, Power tiller and all kind of farm implements including reversible plough.
The larger scope of Agricultural Engineers is for government agencies such as the Department of Agriculture or state agricultural extension services and work in production, sales, management, research and development, or applied science. A large percentage of Agricultural Engineers work in academia or some are consultants, employed by private engineering firms, while others work in industry, for manufacturers of agricultural machinery, equipment, processing technology, and structures for housing livestock, storing crops and so on., I encourage you to visit the college to know more about the student centric learning environment , Design thinking curriculum, farm facilities and equipments, infrastructure facilities , career opportunities etc.,
